Under the auspices of the Research on Armenian Architecture (RAA) and with the sponsorship of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, Samvel Karapetyan's book "Caucasian Albania Proper: Part 1" has been published.
This work presents the history and historical monuments of the Armenian‐inhabited villages in the left‐bank reaches of the middle course of the Kura River—historically known as the Caucasian Albania Proper region (presently within the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan). Special attention is given to the Armenian inscriptions preserved at various archaeological sites. The book is intended for all those interested in the history and material culture of the Armenian people, in particular, the Armenian settlements of Caucasian Albania Proper.
It is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Bishop Makar Barkhudaryants, the tireless researcher of the historical monuments of Caucasian Albania Proper and the Artsakh region.
