The analysis of satellite imagery from April 2024 uncovered that the Azerbaijani forces had utterly demolished the Surb Hambardzum church of Berdzor, leaving it in ruins (https://monumentwatch.org/en/alerts/azerbaijan-obliterated-the-surb-hambardzum-church-of-berdzor/).
Before its destruction, the Surb Hambardzum church of Berdzor was fully covered with roofs and decks (Figs. 1 and 2).
Presently, the Church of Surb Nahatakats of Aghavno, constructed in 2002, is at risk of facing a similar fate of destruction (see more details about the church: https://monumentwatch.org/en/monument/the-srbots-nahatakats-holy-martyrs-church-of-aghavno-village/)
An observation of Azerbaijani social networks reveals that the Surb Hambardzum Church in Berdzor is completely covered with decking and roofing materials (Fig. 3). This can be seen at the 1:29 mark of a video uploaded at the end of February this year (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYjaXyoYHyk). Given the precedent set by the destruction of the Surb Hambardzum Church in Berdzor, the Aghavno Church faces a similar threat.
